Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.) Upon hearing of a death, or other serious calamities, a Muslim will recite this short verse from the Qur’an. It is a reminder that whatever is in this world belongs to God and will be returned to Him.
